OK my friends, I promised pictures of the master bathroom reno so here they are. They really aren't that exciting but I will try and explain what I'm planning for in this space.
Let's take a look back as what it looked like when we bought the house:
{Sorry it's so blurry}
There really was nothing I liked about this bathroom. My original plan was to just get rid of the tub, patch the floor, paint the cabinets, clean it all up with paint and a few new things and call it good for awhile, but the guy who bought the tub ended up wanting everything else and my contractor said that if I ever really wanted to redo the bathroom, now was the time. Because of how projects and things have gone, it has sat gutted for most of the last 11 months but I'm really OK with that. It has allowed me think about what I want, get advice and ideas from others, and I think helped me come up with a layout I'm going to really like. With everything in house remodeling, there is always an element of risk and uncertainty but at some point you just have to jump in and hope it all comes together. I'm way beyond that point with this room.
Here is what the room looks like now. I will explain what use to be in a picture and what will now be there under each picture.
Along the left wall were the double vanities and on the right wall (which you can't see) was the tub. Now, if you look at the tape marks on the floor, you can see where the new shower will be and the new vanity will basically be where the old vanity was. They will be separated by a half wall and frameless glass. If you were getting in the shower, to the right will be a full wall and a closet. There were no closets in this bathroom and this house lacks closets to begin with so it is a must.
Here is a photo of what the layout will look like when it's done:

This is looking at where the old shower use to be. For now I'm not putting anything there but I will most likely put our clothes hampers and floating shelves above. It will be a decorative feature. If I find a very functional cool piece of furniture I may put that there as well. Still undecided. Once again, if you look at the tape on the floor you can see where the end of the vanity will be.
Another look at where the old vanity use to be and it's basically where the new one will go.
Here is looking at the entry to the bathroom from our room. I'm basically standing where the shower will be to take this photo. Along that wall will be a small sitting bench and above will be our towel bars.
Here you are looking into the master closet. To the left in the recessed area is where the toilet is and will be, and to the right is where the old shower was which will now be the open undecided area. I plan on carpeting the closet and it will get new paint and planked ceiling.
Speaking of planked ceiling, the whole ceiling is getting planked in a white plank. I hate the popcorn and knew this was the time to get it done. I'm a bit nervous for how I will like it, but I'm excited to totally change the look.
This skylight will also get trimmed out and the "lovely" sheet covering removed. I am just giddy about the whole thing!!! I feel good with my choices and think will will all come together beautifully. I will share my tile, vanity, and paint color choice with you next week! Still have some important decisions to make!
*If anything was unclear, please let me know. I am new at having to explain all this so feedback is great! Happy Thursday!
