I think we should continue with a reveal of the house today. Shall we go upstairs? Watch yourself, there's no railing - yet!
One of the things that really sold us on this house (other then the fact that we felt like this is where God wants us to be) was the lofts. There are actually no upstairs bedrooms which is often puzzling to people because the house looks a lot bigger from the outside then it actually is. It's a long house, but it's actually not very deep. There have been times in this whole process I have wished they had built it just 6 feet deeper, but no house is perfect so you work with what you have. That's part of the fun.
Let's go up...
When you reach the top of the stairs there is a loft to your left and right. The loft to the left is the largest on and it is a really good size. I have yet to take someone up there who doesn't comment on what a cool feature it is. This loft will end up serving as our family room. This is where we will have a sectional and TV. It will be the hangout place. This loft overlooks the kitchen.
For now, it serves as a great place for Kidlet #3 to have his airport.
As you go up the stairs to the right, there is a smaller loft which overlooks the living room. This will serve as a craft room/office. The best picture I have is with the previous owners furniture in it.
I am so excited about these spaces. They are going to be so fun for our family. I just wonder how many of those airplanes will find themselves on the lower level. I just hope none of them find themselves in a pot of soup some night.
I love lofts. Yes, it will be fun for you family!
