Today I will take you through the process of picking the kitchen hardware. In our old house I had dark - almost black, hardware and I loved it against the white cabinets. Because we went with blue on the bottom cabinets in this kitchen, I knew dark was not what I wanted. I felt the kitchen needed a little "bling" and I decided to bring it in through the hardware I chose.
The direction I ended up going all really started when I picked the faucet. I was looking for something very tailored, yet traditional/modern. When I found this faucet I just loved it and it was considerably less expensive then other faucets I was looking at so I was sold. It's by Moen and can be found at HomeDepot or Lowe's and online.
With the faucet as my jumping off point, I went looking for cabinet hardware. There aren't a ton of choices in this finish but luckily I found just what I wanted for relatively cheap. They are from Lowe's and I love them as well. They jazz up the kitchen just a little bit.
For the drawer pulls I got these:
And here are the knobs for the doors:
Some people will say that you should really stick with brushed nickel or some other conservative finish for your hardware for resale. All I have to say to that is, "Pish posh, applesauce!" Are you living in your house for someone else? I don't think so!! Your home needs to be what it wants and YOU want. You are the one who has to wake up every morning and stair at it's four walls so make it what you want. You and the house will be better for it!
Make it a great one!!!
