"How You Know" (November Challenge Day #4)
My Master Bathroom started today!!!!! I am b.e.y.o.n.d. excited for this room to get done!! I will share pictures starting tomorrow of the progress along the way so stay tuned!
I have just a few minutes before my kids get home from school, but I wanted to get this post in and show you this beauty. Don't you just love it? OK, maybe you don't, but I do and it's going in my house, so that's all that matters (he-he). I'm not a hunter of any sort so hanging deer on my walls is not a common occurrence in this house. But when I found it on a shelf several months back at HomeGoods I knew it was meant to be mine!! At the time I was there shopping with a friend helping her find new things for her master bedroom. I told her I liked it and she laughed at me and said, "No you don't girlfriend!" But I did!! And after we left I couldn't stop thinking about it. That's how I knew it was suppose to be mine. And that's how you should know when something is suppose to be yours too. I snuck back later that night and luckily it was still there so I scooped it up!
Shopping for home decor can be very overwhelming and intimidating so I am a firm believer that if you don't absolutely love it or have a specific place for it, don't get it. Now sometimes you will love it so-so-much but you don't know where it will go. Get it anyway. You'll figure it out, even if it means you get rid of something else. That means you are probably getting rid of something that you didn't really like anyway so it's a win-win. See the train of logic here?
What if it's something that is a little "out there"? Get it!! Do you want a house that looks like it came out of a box store catalog? No you don't! You want something that's YOU. Parts of you maybe Target or PotteryBarn, but they are never 100% YOU, so branch out and be adventurous. Like I said in my fall decor post (go HERE if you didn't read it), you need to create visual interest and don't be afraid to express yourself in the decor of your home. If you like it, it will all come together in the end. I promise!
There's the bus with my chillins'! Got to run! I still don't know where this deer head will finally rest in this house, but I will keep you updated!

I think the deer is super! I'm not in to hunting, but that is cool. :)
ReplyDeleteLoving your daily posts Megan. You've got cows, now a deer, I wonder what unsuspecting animal will be next! :)
ReplyDeleteFunny you should say that Alison!! I have found a lot of animal heads I've liked lately! The one I wish I'd bought was a statue of a pelican!! It was so cool and some other lucky lady got it. I still think about it every time I walk down the clearance aisle at Home Goods! I didn't follow my own advice!
